StreamMyGameYou have heard of streaming audio, and maybe video, but what about streaming games? There are currently companies making streaming products, but I’ve never heard of anything that can do what this system can.
Imagine playing any PC game ever release on your PS3 with good frames and quality. Welcome to the reality of SteamMyGame. The basic idea of the product is you have a Windows machine that takes the game and then turns it into a video and control stream. It means that your older machines can play new games, that is of course, if you have a fast enough machine in the house to run it.
There are many options for this incredible piece of software, such as the ability to play games over the Internet, without worrying about PC requirements and without having to downloading the game at all. It will create a new market for ‘rent a game system’ and options for future consoles to be dumb terminals.
If you want to have a play, you can jump over to the StreamMyGame website and download the program for free. If it is as good as it says, this could be the best thing since slice bread (for PC game streaming).

I’ve been talking about this kind of thing for a decade now. Not specifically geared towards games, but computers in general.

It all comes down to dumb-terminals. All I need is a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and a small box for networking. All the real processing is done on some big server somewhere else. All the software is installed on their server.

You’ll never have to upgrade your computer again. You don’t have to spend $50 on Turbo Tax when you only need it 2 days out of the year. You can “pay per view” it for a few days for only $5. And on and on.

Everything takes place on their servers, and is streamed to your dummy-terminal.

This software in theory, should be able to do it all, including movies. Imagine having 1 Blu-ray player and having it stream everywhere or similar options. You are right about that’s how systems should be by now, but the problem is bandwidth in a lot of countries. Imagine the extinction of virus’s, malware and other announces. All gone because the system is locked down by a real system admin.
