It seems like Ageia wasn’t as useless as people first thought. NVidia are looking to buy out Ageia, who are the creators of the infamous Physx standalone physics cards.
NVidia have said the reason for the move is to create “the world’s most pervasive GPU and physics engine brands, we can now bring GeForceĀ®-accelerated PhysX to hundreds of millions of gamers around the world.” Considering game developers are still very sceptical about the purpose of a PPU (Physics Processors Unit), it may just be a big ol waste of time.
