Exfat Making Its Way To Android
Posted: June 9th, 2010 | Author: Daniel Georges | Filed under: Technology | Tags: android, ExFAT, Linux, Tuxera | No Comments »ExFAT is the natural evolution of the FAT file-system. It doesn’t have the restrictions that FAT32 has, and is faster then NTFS (partially because it doesn’t handle file security). Windows Vista and 7 support it, but that’s about it .
Tuxera has licensed ExFAT, and are working to put it on everyone’s favorite open-source operating system. That means it will eventually find its way into Android, MAEMO and maybe even BADA.
No word yet on whether it will have a cost associated, or when it will be available.
