Today that changes my AMOLED loving friend, with Samsung saying September is the month that you get to really see if the humming in hummingbird is accurate. No exact day, but at least you will know that by October you will be all Flashed out and waiting eagerly for Gingerbread.

Today, Amazon has announced ‘The Kindle’, which is their new name for their familiar 6″ inch ereader we all know and love, but with some sleek new features.
There will now be 2 models. One will have WiFi and 3G, selling for $US189, and the other with only WiFi for a budget $US139. Both models will come in two colour option’s (white and DX style graphite), and will feature a much needed bump in screen refresh rate (20% faster). The Kindle will also feature 4GB of memory, be 21 percent smaller and 15 percent lighter than the previous and a bump in battery life up to a whole month.
Other news include the introduction of a UK store and a beta Webkit browser, but the best part is the fact that while Apple believe the future is colour Amazon have stuck to their guns and gone E-Ink once again. With all the improvements it isn’t just a compelling device to enter the E-Ink era, but also to upgrade your aging device.

The next to the pad (get it) is a Tegra 2 based device from a German company, Interpad.
Being in the same 10″ range as another famous tablet, it features much more impressive hardware. Dual Core Cortex A9 Tegra 2 giving it unparalleled processing and graphics power, 1 GB of RAM (4 times what the iPad currently has), HDMI output to push all those FullHD movies and games to a much larger screen, and 3900mAH battery for 9-12 hours of battery life.
If you think the hardware is impressive then the price is the icing on the cake. For just over $500USD this baby could be yours when it is released sometime before the end of the year. If Google can get a more tablet friendly OS out the door before Christmas, I can’t imagine why I wouldn’t get one (other then the fact they will probably never leave Germany)?

It is incredible to see Sony recover, unfortunately if Move and 3D TV don’t have explosive growth, they might end up back in the same place. Fortunately the Playstation Move looks fantastic, and even though 3D is crap, it will be really cool with that virtual dual screen tech.

You have a friend over to play some games, and all of a sudden your massive screen is cut in half and neither of you can see any of the action. Sony may have an awesome solution to this problem.
The patent basically turns your 3D screen into two 2D screen (when special glasses are used). By creating a 50/60 hz refresh on odds and the same on evens, Sony have created the illusion of having two different images visible on the same TV.
Not only will it work for gaming, you could also watch two different videos at once, ending the age old TV bickering of who controls the remote in the relationship (it should always be the man BTW). As an added bonus the glasses will also come with their own set of headphones, for split audio.
Other then the part where you have to wear stupid looking glasses and have a super expensive 3D television, I am starting to get excited by local multi player gaming again!

Apparently Greg Sullivan, senior product manager for Microsoft, has said “the search engine has been heavily integrated into the OS, so it would be hard to offer an alternative.” What this means is not only is Bing the default choice for search, it is also the only choice for search.
As long as Bing is up to the task, and from my experience it isn’t, then their shouldn’t be a problem. If you aren’t happy with Bing, give it a few months and every other search engine will sue them into submission.

Additionally the Kindle is doing exceptionally well, with sales tripling after the slight price drop a few weeks ago. With the success of the iPad and the price drop of pretty much every ereader on the market, it makes a lot of sense that ebooks are really selling well. Lets face it, who doesn’t want to carry their entire book collection everywhere they go?
