Apple iPod TouchMacWorld was great this year for iPhone lovers, who have now been shown an up and coming version 1.1.3 firmware for the device. Apple also showed off a 16GB iPhone, which is a much nicer size then the current 8GB (where is the 32GB?).
Unfortunately if you are a iPod Touch owner, Apple have decided to screw you with a $20 fee for some add-on software. For your $US20 you get Mail, Weather, Stocks, Notes, and Maps. Nice but those apps already come for free with your iPhone for free. Who would have thought that the $US400 you spent on your device wasn’t enough to justify some little applications.
In the case of both devices, you can expect hackers to take them apart and bring them back together with those features and more. For that it will cost you nothing (except maybe a bricked device).

Samsung have announced the 16GB P2, which is much loved by many people. The player is expected to be seen in Q1 of this year. Unfortunately, no price has been announced as yet.

Right after the news of Sony and the larger memory stick, Sandisk didn’t waste to much time announcing their massive MicroSD card. The card will be 12GB being a concept product (not exactly a unique design), which will see an upgrade in June to 16GB making it the largest MicroSD card around. I’m going to put one of my kidneys on Ebay now, so I can afford one.

16 gb memory stickOk, so the title may be a little misleading, but its what I have to do to get you peoples attention sometimes. Sony have gone out of their way (which is very nice of them), to give us an update on the aging 8 GB Memory Stick Pro Duo. The number is now up to a much nicer 16 GB. Out in March for the giant price of $US300, this little guy will be able to hold a crap load of your favourite movies, TV shows, music and pictures. Just don’t let me catch you pirating, that’s naughty.
