If you already have a phone you love, but are like me and want to play with Android, there aren’t too many options (especially if you want MarketPlace). Philips have now released what seems to be the first official Android 2.1 PMP which will support Android’s MarketPlace.
The handsome device features a 3.2-inch screen, 16GB of internal storage space (8GB available soon as well), a battery good for 5 hours of video playback (and 25 hours of audio), FM radio tuner, microSD expansion slot, camera of some sort and GPS. Unusually there is no word of WiFi or Bluetooth, which might make it awkward adding applications to the device.
While Android’s weakest point is the media playback software, it is nice to see Philip’s moving way from propriety crap and offer something a little different. I hope that for $340 there is a nice processor and a misprint on the lack of WiFi.

Another reason to buy an Android device is the release of a handy little app titled PSX4Droid. For $6 and half a brain, you will soon be rolling in Playstation games on your handset. All we need now is a Bluetooth driver for a PS3 controller and it would be an unbeatable portable gaming experience.

Nook has finally joined Kindle in the Android Marketplace. The interesting part is that the Nook is already an Android device, so porting it shouldn’t have been much of a challenge at all.
Apart from being ‘yet-another-ebook-store’ for the Android marketplace, it is the first application to offer ebook lending. That in itself makes using Nook over Kindle desirable if you ever want to share books with friends or strange homeless people.

As you probably know, I am extremely excited about DeathSpank. It offers mad loot for people with the Diablo mindset, plus some comedy that made Monkey Island so great. Released yesterday to most the world, DeathSpank has received some great reviews.
Check out MetaReview for a large listing of very positive reviews. Congratulations Hothead games on an awesome game.

It seems that the tech sites haven’t received samples of the budget minded Fermi’s before release. NewEgg, a giant US computer shop, have a dozen different flavors of NVidia Geforce GTX 460 avaiable. There are no review available as yet, but you can expect it to be slightly faster then the ATI of the same price (under $200USD), yet use a crap load more power (its a Fermi thing).

Update – TechRadar have now reviewed the card, and they think it is by far the best in its price range. Good news for gamers on a budget.

The 22-inch design concept has already shown off at trade shows and what not, but no release date was ever set for it. Not any longer with it being ready to ship in the next couple of days.
The 22-inch Dell Crystal LCD display features a resolution of 1680×1050 (WSXGA+), four speakers (apparently a first for Dell), 2ms response time, webcam, 98 percent colour gamut, 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, DVI and HDCP-compliant HDMI connectivity (in one cable). It looks sexy and it can do everything you will ever need, always nice to know.
Where is the catch? It’s the $US1199 price tag. What did you expect for a floating 4mm thick tempered glass screen overlay and polished metalĀ stand? I think I will stick to my $US300 Viewsonic for a little bit longer.
