Been waiting off on buying a Wii until hackers could exploit it enough to not use a modchip? Your time has now arrived, with some genius’s working out how to crash Zelda and then hack into the system to run exploit code. What’s next? Maybe Linux Wii Edition?

It didn’t take to long to break open Apple’s 1.1.3 firmware, but seems that hackers already have. Jailbreak is now doable on your 1.1.3 iPod Touch or iPhone, with one problem. They haven’t released the info on how to do it. Apparently it is too complicated and they are working on making it easier for the average user. Expect it pretty soon, considering what the Jailbreak team have already accomplished.

There are different versions of WPA, but apparently one of them is hackable and there is a video to prove it. Seems to need some Linux skills to do it, and it looks bloody complex, but is definitely do-able. The video is here, and remember with great power comes great responsibility.

It’s apparently for real people and it will guarantee break you old hacks and give you didley squat. Gizmodo have said “the update breaks unlocks and third-party apps, patching previous vulnerabilities at the same time.” If it is anything to go by, it seems it is the end of the world… at least for people with unlocked iPhones (unless they don’t upgrade and/or wait 10mins for someone to hack it after it is officially released).

PS1 EmulatoriPhone gets the ability to teleport people forward and back in time will probably be the next headline. This one though, is that you can emulate Playstation (the first one) games on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Titled psx4all, developed by guy who also created gpSPhone, can play around 75% of games, still in development and uses software and hardware buttons to play games. If you had donated to the gpSPhone project you are probably already playing around with this, but otherwise there is no current public release of the software. Who wants to play PS1 games on a freaking touch screen, really people this is getting out of hand!

Wouldn’t it be nice if every company that makes PMP’s and other portable entertainment machines gave you the ability to use the device as a MSC (Mass Storage Device Class). Though the Zune 30 can’t by Microsoft’s doing, it can with a little hackory. If you want to know how you will have to click over to the Zunerama Forum, and be warned, it could break your computer. Lets hope that this hack works on all the new Zunes as well.

How do the French unlock their iPhone’s? They make a law and Apple unlock them. It seems that part of the deal that comes with Orange selling iPhone’s in France, are that the devices have to be unlocked because of the rule that prevents carriers from tying handsets exclusively to their networks. Orange will now sell an unlocked iPhone in France, along side a locked on for €399 (not for the unlocked iPhone). It isn’t as cute as a 13 year old breaking it, but it is a hell of a lot cleaner.

That’s right, a 13 year old kid cracked this little baby open. Now with this tool called iJailbreak, you can install a bunch of 3rd party applications and tools. Gizmodo even had a chance to talk to the kid, Arix, and have got a complete install instruction for the people who are willing to break their very expensive toy. Good luck and good night.

If you’re one of those people who brought the new iPhone when the first unlock hacks came out and were then silly enough to upgrade to the 1.1.1 firmware, bricking your newly unlocked toy, you are in luck again. iPhoneSIMFree, the people who brought you the original GUI iPhone SIM unlock, have done it again. It is now possible to unlock your 1.1.1 iPhone, but for how long no one knows.

Wii ModchipRumour has it that those insane Wii hackers have gotten around that incredible security that Nintendo had placed on the D2C series of Wii. Actel have even made a Modchip that gives you the ability to play GameCube games, Wii backups and may even be compatible with the WiiKey.
Currently the Modchip is compatible with around 80% of region protected games, without any problems, but there is an issue. The issue is, that this install isn’t for the light hearted, with micro-soldering of 30 wires to the Wii system board, meaning things are going to be messy (imagine dismantling a bomb, but with more then lives at stake).
The chip will be available very soon and will sell for a price of $US53.
