iRiver E100, Yet Another iRiver DAP

The CES was a big show for iRiver, releasing many products, and surprising a lot of people. The latest surprise is the E100. Built in speakers, large 2.4-inch screen and a interesting control system that takes up around a 3rd of the devices face make up the E100.
The disappointing parts are the storage size of a measly 4GB and the inability to play video files. That could all be changed in later revisions of the device and with firmware upgrades but why skimp on the initial release? Simple design, easy controls and clean design could make it a interesting device to look out for in the coming months.

How Big Will The Iriver Wing Be?

Gizmodo has done one of there Sizmodo’s on the upcoming iriver Wing, and man is it small. They have a whole lot of images of the device, and it is just easier for everyone to go there to see. To bad it is hallow and unusable at the moment.

iRivers Takes Wing To The UMPC

It is CES time, and surely you will get a million tech articles talking about all the upcoming devices. This time it seems to be the big year for UMPC’s, with many companies upgrading and releasing brand new models. iRiver, who aren’t really known for making notebooks or computers, have dived into the UMPC market, with a device simply called the Wing.
Not a whole lot is known about the cute little device, but it is definitely not the gaming hand-held it was going to be once upon a time. Instead it is a tiny little UMPC, with a a touchscreen, 4GB of flash memory (need more then that buddy), WiFi and runs Windows CE Pro (could be a good and bad thing).
This little device tells you a lot from the picture. Firstly, people will compare it straight away to the EeePC, because it is white and a UMPC (I still live by the fact that the EeePC isn’t a UMPC). The device suggests it is more focused on being much smaller then the EeePC, with a thumb board instead of the classic high button QWERTY. iRiver might be onto something if they can get it to the market at a good enough price. Will keep you updated as more information flies in.

iRiver Touch Screen For Rest Of The World?

Have you noticed that in all the iRiver product shots of their newly released W7, the interface is almost completely in English? Wouldn’t that make it possible for iRiver to release a similar device for the rest of the world? With the Samsung P2, iPod Touch, Cowon Q5 and Archos 605, wouldn’t it make sense if iRiver went along the same route? It is just a thought I have had, but I could bet you anything (except my pants, I believe I may need them), that you will hear of some secret iRiver touchscreen announcement fairly soon.

iRiver Throws Out The W7

God knows why you would want a touch screen PMP. I’m sure it looks cool, but have you ever navigated your media library with your finger? The new iRiver jumps on that bandwagon with its newly released W7. The W7 is a dictionary among other things, so don’t expect to see it outside of Korea.
What else can it do? It seems it can also be a CSD viewer, flash player (games), an E-book reader and of course the whole video and audio thing. If you are in Korea, it is available now and will set you back $US310 for the 8GB and $US260 for the 4GB.

iRiver Clix 3 Will Have A HDD?

Seems that the boys over at (actually I think it is a girl) PMP Today have a possible shot of the Clix 3. It isn’t the greatest shot, but it does look very similar to the Clix 2, so who really knows (I would say iRiver does). They have some possible stats for the player, which include a 3-inch screen (up from there current 2.2-inch) and a 1.3-inch HDD which could be 33 GB in size. All possible when you consider that iRiver still have the E10, which has a 6 GB HDD inside. They believe that we should know as early as November (or as late as never).
