If it wasn’t enough that Dubai has the biggest of everything, they have now gone and taken on one of Australia’s favourite tourist destinations. They are creating a very sexy, and very large, arch bridge.
670 feet at its highest point and a mile long, this bridge will accommodate 12 lanes of highway giving it the ability to move 2000 vehicles per hour. The real whopper is the cost, which is set to be $US817 Million.
I will have to go to Dubai one day. Firstly to see all these fantastic creations that are being made there. The second reason is so I can find the money tree’s they have growing there (where does all that money come from otherwise?)

For all the Apple fanboys (and girls) in Australia, there is now another reason to visit Sydney city (other then to show off your iPhone). Soon a new Apple official retail outlet will be located on the corner of King Street and George Street (where the old Westpac use to be), which should be opening around the middle of 2008.
Also you might like to know that they are already advertising for staff, so if you don’t mind sitting around another 9+ months then it might be a decent career path. You would also be located next door too a McDonalds, which closes the deal for me.
On a unrelated note, the location they chose is close to the centre of Sydney city, making it a great location. The only issue I find is that I know the owners of the electronic shops along that road very well, and they all sell Apple gear (Georges Electronics, CCC Camera House, Paxtons etc). Me wonders if this will hurt there says or create more interest in the area. What do you think?
